i have been meaning to blog about this for about a month. so, here i am.
the Lord has done a good work in me. he has made me a new creation. i am completely overwhelmed by his grace on my life. countless times in the past few months, his love and grace have brought instant tears to my eyes. it could be a song, something someone says to me, or just silent reflecting on how he has changed me.

a current favorite song has these lyrics:
you made a way when there was no way
you covered heaviness with garments of praise
you wrote a song and you're singing it over me...
...Jesus has been sent, and everything is different

this song is one of the many that inspires instant tears. when my mom passed away and my relationship was compromised with my dad, i literally felt like there was no way out; i would never have fullness of life again. but he redeemed me, he resurrected my heart. he has saved me from myself, my selfishness, my ugliness, my guilt. he sees all of this in me and even knows the sins i will commit before i commit them. and still, he chooses me. he chooses to intervene in my heart and show me the correct way, the life giving way. he has covered my heaviness with garments of praise.

why would he do this? the only answer is that he loves me. he came to save the world. to save his people from themselves. i will never be the same. and the best news is that he will continue to make me a new creation over and over again!

psalm 16 says, "I will say to the Lord, you are my Lord and apart from you I have no good thing".

These rooms are so dramatic and yet still feel warm to me.

I could sit/lay in these rooms all day reading and be so content.

everytime i play cards i think about her; she was a card shark. i think about her long acrylic nails holding the cards. i think about how mean she was to Lauren and I because she always wanted to win. i think about our family vacations and nights after dinner that just weren't the same without a game of cards.

can't believe its been 2 1/2 years.
most of the time i think time has gone by so fast since she passed away.
but today, i think, how could i live so long without her?
