found this little bird this morning, outside my window. he flew up to the top of the tree and perched himself there. i found myself jealous of his morning as he sunbathed and relaxed, gaining perspective as he was higher than all of this other bird friends.
i realize this post makes me weird. he is still there right now, at 1:16 pm. he looks like he might be taking a nap right now....or maybe he's just afraid to come down.

we're moving!!

we are going to do some painting at our new place tomorow! we {think we} are going to paint our bedroom the charcoal slate color below. we both love the trendy color gray and love the option of adding any color accent. happy dreaming to us!

for our study....we are definitley going to use this color below. Scott saw it in the west elm catalog and loved it. i am hoping to add some white trim like the concept below...

thinking of painting our powder bath in big stripes, maybe in a dark slate color?

also...how have i never seen this awesome website?

The Study & GrĂ¼ner Veltliner

So last night I was at The Study in New Haven, CT. Very cool lobby/lobby bar. Refreshing concept.

so i had this delicious white wine from Austria... Gruner Veltliner. I had the Sea Scallops with Caramelized spaghetti squash and raisins. I'm going out to buy a bottle for our new place!

spaciousness

"Most of us, most of the time, just fill our spaces up or dull our awareness of them. We grab a book, run to the television, work on a project, have a drink. I used to think women were more comfortable with space than men; nowadays I am not so sure. Women perhaps feel more guilty about taking time in freedom for themselves, while men feel more anxious. But it is a tiny difference. Either way real space cna be very unpleasant. We somehow must realign our attitudes toward spaciousness. We must begin to see it as presence rather than absence, friend instead of enemy..."

"...Spaciousness is always a beginning, a possibility, a potential. Space exits not in order to be filled, but to create. Take the time, then, to make space. Seek it wherever you can find it, do it however you can...."

Corpus Christi Model Room

Went to Omni Corpus Chrsiti last week for a model room review! For the small budget we have, it turned out pretty good! Before pictures are on the left, after pictuers on the right. Don't judge the new vanity top, it didn't arrive on time. It will be 1"thick colored glass. We had to keep the vinyl wallcovering from 1999- literally.

Corridors.

Sorry Mark and Anne, you had to stay in the old rooms. But come back in March and it will be fully renovated!
