::: ankle weights :::

abby lynn, my sweet co-blogger, and i, like to go on walks after work.
when i go on walks, i like to wear my ankle weights.
the first time i wore them, abby was embarrassed of me.
now she is used to them.
she even borrowed them one day. except she wore them on her arms. hah.

they really do work your legs more. see the cool people below who wear them?
their legs look great.

even babies wear them!

maybe i should get some high fashion ankle weights so i can wear them to work.
what do you think?

::: dream job :::

I would love to own my own furniture and accessory store some day. I would love to be able to go shopping in Europe and New York and California to find treasures to sell in my store. I would love to have repeat customers who I know by name. The ambiance would be delightful : lots of light, soft but good music playing, hardwood floors with delicious little cookies and a pitcher of tea for those who are shopping. If I did have my own store, these are the types of things I would love to sell...

woods just called, less then fifteen minutes after the posting.

"you bitch" - woods

"what?" - abby

"did you post your computer on craiglist under my name?" - woods

"what are you talking about?" - abby

"someone posted your computer on craiglist. i've gotten two calls about it. you promise you didnt do it?" - woods

"promise about what?" - abby

"about posting your stuff & having them call me?" - woods

"ahahhahha" - abby

"oooo...the war is on!" - woods

Then I received emails from the posting:
& People are VERY interested!

Email 1 -
Lauren,
I just called about the iMac, do you still have it for sale?  Thanks

Email 2 -
Thats a good deal! I want it! Still available?

UH OH.

Woods changed her voicemail to say "If you are interested in my iPhone or iMac, please call my assistant, Abby at 972 953 8618" ...Now Im getting all the calls.

Since she said "You got me. It was a good prank" - I have deleted all the postings.

These idiots text message her too.

Shh..Don't tell.

I cant imagine Woods reading Lin & I's blog so I feel okay to post my lil scam now, opposed to later, when she finds out.

I will be "selling'' many things on Craigslist and leaving contact info for Lauren. They will be calling her ... and I think I have to sell many different things, such as Zog's Yamaha keyboard, my computer, & maybe my iPhone ...so that it drives her up the wall. I cant imagine that many hits on just one of these things, so I must overdo it. Laurel suggested me selling her car, but it's dirty & she's at the library now, and I wanted to do this right now.

All of her items for sale: (1)  keyboard, (2) iMac & (3) iPhone

Don't tell!

::: prank wars :::

you might have noticed on my twitter, or on gchat, the talk of Woods and Abby's Prank War.

It all started last night, and I promise to update the blog with all the pranks that go on, back and forth.

Last night, we were pleasantly sitting at the kitchen table ("we" being Melanie, Abby, Woods and I) enjoying each other. Abby and Woods started bickering and before you know it, Woods has splashed a cup of water all over Abby's head and covered her wet hair with salt. Melanie and I both can't remember the last time we laughed so hard. For the rest of the night their voices were loud and fierce, name calling and shouting threats of what is to come.

I can't wait for the next blog update!

::: falling whistles :::

many of you may know about falling whistles and the event that was held in Dallas this weekend to raise awareness. i did attend and was impacted by what i heard. i didn't want the information to stop with me. click on the falling whistles link above and read "the story".

the republic of congo has been in the news for quite some time. telling of its war, the rebels, depravity and death. this benefit brings hope and good to a place that is full of evil. i believe in what they are doing. if you do too, spread the word!!

heartbreaking.

dear readers

IT IS WITH VERY HEAVY HEARTS THAT WE SAY FAREWELL. OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS, IN 28 ISSUES, WE HAVE DONE OUR BEST TO CREATE A GREAT MAGAZINE. WE STARTED WITH A REAL IDEA—THAT STYLE IS FOR EVERYONE—AND TRIED TO CARRY IT OUT WITH STORIES THAT PROVIDE INSPIRATION AND EMPOWER YOU TO ACT ON IT. FROM YOUR TREMENDOUS RESPONSE, WE KNOW THAT WE WERE ONTO SOMETHING. IN THIS TOUGH ECONOMY, HOWEVER, WE SIMPLY WEREN'T ABLE TO GET THE ADVERTISING SUPPORT WE NEEDED.

AS DOMINO EVOLVED, WE NEVER LOST SIGHT OF OUR ORIGINAL DEMOCRATIC PREMISE. LOOKING BACK AT THE MANIFESTO WE PUBLISHED IN THE PREMIERE ISSUE, THE FIRST TENET OF DOMINO IS STILL THE TRUEST: HOME SHOULD MAKE YOU HAPPY. WE HOPE WE HAVE PLAYED A PART IN MAKING THIS COME TRUE FOR YOU.

LOVE,
ALL THE EDITORS OF DOMINO
