Advent

I did not grow up celebrating Advent. I have, however, always had a special interest in the church traditions even though I did not practice them. So, this year, Scott and I are partaking in the Advent season, each day. I am blessed that my boyfriend did grow up and learn such traditions, it is so attractive to me.

We have started reading the devotional our church provided and I really love this sentiment/reason/thought on Advent:

In His coming is our joy, for He is our treasure, our greatest good.

chicken pot pie. i have one in the oven right now!

the recipe is from a woman i used to know and it is super easy and delicious! not saying it's healthy, but its a great warm meal on a chilly fall day.

1 large can white chicken

1 can veg-all

1 can cream of chicken

1 can cream of potato

1/4 cup milk

1/2 cup grated cheese

salt and pepper

bake in a pie crust for 45-60 minutes at 375 degrees

(don't forget to put the 2nd pie crust on top before cooking)

every Halloween, the Omni Corporate office does a costume competition between departments. Marketing always wins, but this year, we did! Since we, Product Development, manage all the renovations, we decided to be a Model Room. Lane is in the headboard and mattress/bed. Laura (my boss) and I are nightstands, John is the drapery and Heather is the TV. We had a front door (made of paper) with the Omni Select Guest door knocker glued on the knob. We were excited to win!
